Italy stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 0.72%

Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.72%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI ), which rose 4.32% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS ) added 2.58% or 0.16 points to end at 6.37 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI ) was up 2.54% or 0.19 points to 7.89 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ERG (BIT:ERG ), which fell 0.79% or 0.16 points to trade at 20.02 at the close. Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN ) declined 0.30% or 0.02 points to end at 7.94 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII ) was down 0.28% or 0.02 points to 5.67.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 327 to 203 and 56 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.58% or 0.16 to 6.37.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.83% or 0.58 to $69.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.71% or 0.52 to hit $73.10 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 6.79 to trade at $2,674.69 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
