Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.03%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical , Software and Insurance sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.03% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.33%, and the TecDAX index added 0.55%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ), which rose 6.53% or 3.38 points to trade at 55.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN ) added 6.04% or 14.70 points to end at 258.10 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn ) was up 4.15% or 20.80 points to 522.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG ), which fell 2.55% or 0.75 points to trade at 28.65 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p ) declined 2.35% or 1.44 points to end at 59.84 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN ) was down 2.12% or 0.46 points to 20.99.

The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn ) which rose 5.74% to 12.34, Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG ) which was up 5.07% to settle at 145.10 and AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G ) which gained 4.24% to close at 17.71.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which was down 6.48% to 11.41 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG ) which lost 4.90% to settle at 11.93 and Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n ) which was down 3.48% to 7.88 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn ) which rose 5.33% to 48.40, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG ) which was up 3.57% to settle at 113.00 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p ) which gained 3.27% to close at 249.40.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG ) which was down 6.48% to 11.41 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI ) which lost 2.02% to settle at 15.06 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG ) which was down 1.31% to 24.20 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 314 to 293 and 29 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n ) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.53% or 3.38 to 55.14. Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN ) rose to 3-years highs; up 6.04% or 14.70 to 258.10. Shares in Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn ) rose to all time highs; up 4.15% or 20.80 to 522.40. Shares in Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 5.07% or 7.00 to 145.10. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.24% or 0.72 to 17.71. Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.57% or 3.90 to 113.00.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.01% to 14.60.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 10.41 to $2,769.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $75.87 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $79.34 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 108.01.
