Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities , Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM ), which rose 5.18% or 0.69 points to trade at 14.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE ) added 3.19% or 0.43 points to end at 13.77 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB ) was up 2.48% or 0.11 points to 4.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V ), which fell 1.51% or 0.28 points to trade at 18.23 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV ) declined 1.41% or 0.83 points to end at 58.00 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V ) was down 0.67% or 0.24 points to 35.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 108 to 68 and 14 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.42% or 0.30 to $72.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 7.15 to trade at $2,579.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.49.
