Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials , Consumption and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3 ), which rose 6.14% or 2.99 points to trade at 51.69 at the close. Meanwhile, MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3 ) added 5.99% or 0.44 points to end at 7.79 and Natura & Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3 ) was up 3.55% or 0.48 points to 13.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3 ), which fell 3.91% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.59 at the close. Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4 ) declined 3.66% or 0.18 points to end at 4.74 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3 ) was down 2.83% or 0.21 points to 7.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 560 to 359 and 71 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.91% to 26.14.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.79% or 20.05 to $2,546.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $69.19 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.11% or 0.27 to trade at $243.43 .
USD/BRL was down 1.15% to 5.58, while EUR/BRL fell 0.79% to 6.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 101.03.
