Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare , Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB ), which rose 0.31% or 0.20 points to trade at 65.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG ) added 0.23% or 0.06 points to end at 26.30 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC ) was up 0.22% or 0.16 points to 74.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB ), which fell 2.15% or 4.15 points to trade at 188.50 at the close. Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB ) declined 1.65% or 180.00 points to end at 10,700.00 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ) was down 1.59% or 9.60 points to 595.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.22% or 0.16 to 74.38.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.66% or 17.44 to $2,614.46 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.91 to hit $71.51 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.68 to trade at $74.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 108.05.
