Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities , Beverage and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aedifica (EBR:AOO ), which rose 2.36% or 1.50 points to trade at 64.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB ) added 1.43% or 0.95 points to end at 67.40 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP ) was up 1.13% or 0.28 points to 25.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB ), which fell 6.90% or 15.60 points to trade at 210.40 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI ) declined 2.46% or 0.25 points to end at 9.73 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB ) was down 2.46% or 0.78 points to 30.87.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 36 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore SA (EBR:UMI ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.46% or 0.25 to 9.73.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.29% or 7.35 to $2,540.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 4.58% or 3.15 to hit $65.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.02% or 2.89 to trade at $68.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.63.
