Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology , Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ), which rose 1.97% or 12.40 points to trade at 641.40 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:UCB ) added 1.73% or 3.30 points to end at 194.50 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB ) was up 1.36% or 0.90 points to 67.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI ), which fell 5.63% or 4.15 points to trade at 69.55 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS ) declined 2.58% or 1.50 points to end at 56.65 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB ) was down 1.74% or 0.95 points to 53.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 35 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Argen-X (EBR:ARGX ) rose to all time highs; up 1.97% or 12.40 to 641.40. Shares in Elia (EBR:ELI ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.63% or 4.15 to 69.55. Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.73% or 3.30 to 194.50.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.74% or 19.84 to $2,685.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.08% or 0.80 to hit $73.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.83 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 108.90.
