Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG ), which rose 5.93% or 1.42 points to trade at 25.38 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB ) added 4.07% or 8.00 points to end at 204.80 and Elia (EBR:ELI ) was up 3.38% or 2.85 points to 87.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC ), which fell 1.24% or 0.86 points to trade at 68.70 at the close. Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE ) declined 0.39% or 0.07 points to end at 17.99 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS ) was up 0.55% or 0.39 points to 70.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 28 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.25% or 33.40 to $2,708.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.20% or 0.84 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.97% or 0.72 to trade at $74.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 107.60.
