Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare , Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI ), which rose 2.81% or 0.29 points to trade at 10.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG ) added 2.68% or 0.68 points to end at 26.06 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB ) was up 2.33% or 4.20 points to 184.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB ), which fell 4.78% or 9.10 points to trade at 181.40 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB ) declined 2.59% or 5.30 points to end at 199.50 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB ) was down 2.05% or 0.64 points to 30.61.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 61 to 38 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.87% or 78.50 to $2,658.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.95% or 2.10 to hit $69.14 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.71% or 2.02 to trade at $72.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 107.01.
